NFL Predictions: NFC South

1st. Saints 13-3

The flying offense will lead New Orleans to the best record in the league, even with a very tough schedule. Drew Brees will put up huge numbers with many targets to choose from. If Pierre Thomas can continue his success from last season, they will be very tough to beat. Their defense will much improved from a year ago which will get them to 13 wins.

2nd. Falcons 10-6

Atlanta will have a successful season, but not enough to reach the playoffs, losing the tiebreaker to Dallas. Matt Ryan is a year older and they added another target in Tony Gonzalez, but having to play the Saints twice and the NFC East will not help their cause. In a year or two, the defense will be good enough to be a real Super Bowl contender.

3rd. Panthers 9-7

Carolina has always been an up and down team, and this year will be one of the downs. This will probably be Jake Delhomme's last season there as a starter after his play this year. The running game won't be as effective, but enough to get to 9 wins. Time to start developing a young QB.

4th. Buccaneers 4-12

After a terrible finish to last season, the losing will continue all year long. Hard to find any bright spots for this team this year. Unless Leftwich can step up, they will have quarterback issues all season, and no one knows how Ward will manage the running game without Jacobs in front of him. The once powerful defense is not so anymore and will be lucky to get them to 4 wins.
